WHO WE ARE

Meeting Point is a women-led, Russian-speaking grassroots initiative that promotes peace and social justice for all in Israel and Palestine.

We moved to Israel from Russian-speaking countries between 2010 and 2022. We created the kind of space we were looking for ourselves: a community in which we can explore, take action, connect with others and feel represented.

WHY WE EXIST

Our audience is primarily made up of new repatriates from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Many have fled war and authoritarian regimes, and they have strong political opinions and experience of civil resistance, which are still invisible and underused in Israel.

At the same time, the Middle Eastern social and political context is unfamiliar to many people. We help Russian-speaking olim explore existing civil society so they can decide which organizations to join.

WHAT WE DO

We create space: We organize talks and tours with Israeli and Palestinian speakers, translated into Russian, so the community can engage in nuanced conversations on Israel and Palestine without fear of being delegitimised.

We inform and empower: Beyond events, we share videos with Russian subtitles and produce Russian-language resources that make knowledge accessible, spark discussions, highlight existing initiatives, and show ways to get involved.

We connect: We seek to organize joint events, translate websites, outlets, interviews, guides and other valuable materials into Russian, and introduce Russian-speaking Israelis as allies and collaborators at major shared events, shifting them from passive observers to active participants.

We’re a small team working side by side in a non-hierarchical way, making all major decisions together.

Supported by 10+ volunteers who sometimes write, translate, co-host events, and help us fundraise, we’re all committed to advancing peace and social justice.
